Thx... I'm really enjoying this Edwards LP. I compared it with a Gibby costing 4x the amount and liked the Edwards better. Gibby, overpriced junk.pedro wrote:Ah !

yeah,
its amazing how poor the quality control can get on some name guitars.
my last purchase was an Ernie Ball Silhouette Special - instead of the Strats I had been considering. It was the right decision, the EB is superb in playability and finish quality compared to most stock Strats I tried.
send me a pic of the Edwards !
Have you seen the recent Fender Master series ( budget RF Esprit ) - any good as a cheaper "throw it about" guitar I wonder ? I wondered about picking one up and replacing the PUs.
Also Bob, where did you get the RF backing track ?
Thats enough - Omar , maybe we need an "Off Topic" Lounge area on this forum for this type of discussion !!
cheers

Yes I saw several while I was in Japan shopping for the Edwards. I wasn't impressed, they were all pretty cheezy.Have you seen the recent Fender Master series ( budget RF Esprit ) - any good as a cheaper "throw it about" guitar I wonder ? I wondered about picking one up and replacing the PUs.
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Also Bob, where did you get the RF backing track ?
Ok, here it is.

Give a listen to my cut. I played 2 guitars, fretted and slide plus 2 sax parts, soprano and tenor.

E-LP-85CD is the Edwards model number. I picked it up in Japan last week for 68000 yen, or about $575 USD. It comes with a gig bag.
In Japan the ESP branded is less of an exact LP copy, the horns and headstock are shaped different, the inlays are different, the neck is slimmer and it has EMG PU's. I prefer the Duncan PU's, 50's style neck and the more traditional look, but both are beautiful instruments.
Go here, scroll down to Edwards and take a look. In the US shipping from here costs more than my first car

Here's the corrected schematic plus another clip with the CF (1/2 of the Dumbelator) in place.

Is this schematic a standard Dumble preamp with the switching pulled out? I was trying to trace the circuit to remove the Rock/Jazz etc., but I couldn't figure it out on first look.
Re: Remember that pedal page? Dumbleator added, clip
Yes, that's exactly what it is. Look at the 97 schematic for the ckt without the jazz/rock switch.MarkB wrote:Is this schematic a standard Dumble preamp with the switching pulled out? I was trying to trace the circuit to remove the Rock/Jazz etc., but I couldn't figure it out on first look.

Bob,
What is the difference in tone and feel between your preamp into the fender clean channel and the dumble overdrive channel.
Thanks!

It's hard to say, but the preamp doesn't really capture the feel of the Dumble. I think I need to run it into a power amp, bypassing the preamp.HiGain wrote:Bob,

I'm thinking of building a few preamps and the dumble is one I want to try. Are the schematics avaialble for Bob-I's pre?
Re: Remember that pedal page? Dumbleator added, clip
I have one drawn up. I`ll post it when I return to the US from Japan this weekend.sdp1234 wrote:I'm thinking of building a few preamps and the dumble is one I want to try. Are the schematics avaialble for Bob-I's pre?
