Faceplates...

Post by Bob Simpson »

How do I create a faceplate/backplate to overlay the holes in a Bassman chassis?
I'd like to come up with a "pro" look, but
haven't the foggiest how to go about a 'one off'
faceplate.

Any help?

I've got one experience with this guy. He's not cheap but the work was perfect. jvallina@amplates.com You could send him an email or google his site, Amplates.com

When Jim Price at Omega modded my HRDLx he had a new maroon over white faceplate made for it and it turned out great. You might email him to get the guy's contact info. Actually any trophy, or small sign maker with an engraver should be able to do it.

I could make you one of these.. It's printed on brushed metal.. and laminated with a thick clear lamination looks like plexiglass very nice.. If you or someone else has a Bassman front and back already designed I can use it as a template and do one in any color... cost you $50.00 fo both.. Just trying to help...

You can use any vectorgraphic drawing program (like visio) to draw your faceplate to scale, print it to PDF and send the file to Jeanne of

http://www.bnplasers.com

and she can laser engrave the plate on the material of your choice for pretty darn cheap. She has made lots of plates for me. She can do the artwork for you too but it will cost more.

Here are some I drew up recently. If you want, get me dimensions and hole size and position and I'll draw you something.

Here is a drawing of a set Jeanne did for one of my recent amps. I had her reverse engrave the plates so the lettering will never rub off.

Thank you for the layouts.
I guess what I was trying to learn was how to physically create
a faceplate.
I'll check the sites that do that.
