ODS Reverb pics!
Hi gang,
here are some pics of my ODS 75W Reverb clone..... using two KT88 (504V on the plates).
As said, it features a Post PI CF and 2 Tube Reverb switchable HRM and Non-HRM.
I still have some minor issues concerning the Reverb.
I think I will go back to the 100k/1k5 anode/cathode resistors in the Reverb Recovery and rather drop signal to ground. I now have 22k/820 and 47k/820 and have some 3-3.6mA through the 12AT7.

thats beautifully crafted - bet it sounds wonderful.
I tend to use old chassis to build experimental circuits and then if it sounds great I never get round to building the cosmetic version - sometimes I even gig with the ugly beasts - shame on me.

I need to get round to building the "finished article." Once the tone is there I lose the will to do the craftmanship - unless I'm building for a friend or fellow player.
nice to see your using same RIFA caps as me in the PS !!
I'm about to rebuild a DIY plexi into a dumble ODS so I'll use your build quality as a source of inspiration and I think I wil try the CF idea - like the echoplex etc.
cheers

Re: ODS Reverb pics!
Thanks for the kind responses!
Clips will have to wait until I get that Audio Interface and SM-57 from our rehearsal room.
I redid some bits of the Reverb section (moved another ground point) and setting the Dwell trimmer lower got rid of all the Reverb problems.
I will post a new pic later on.
Cheers,
Dominik

Re: ODS Reverb pics!
So here is the pic of the board update. I moved the Reverb Driver cathode resistor/cap to another place and shuffled the mixing resistors around a bit.
If you do intend to build a Reverb clone, I would urge you to completely seperate the Reverb grounds from the OD/Clean grounds. Run the Reverb grounds to the corresponding filter ground and from there to the filter star ground.
Cheers,
Dominik

Very nice work.
Did you make the PCB for the PS yourself? That's on my list of things to learn, PCB making.

That's great looking work, Dominic. Very efficient use of limited space. Your PCBs also look professional. You may have to give us all a lesson in PCB making.

Re: ODS Reverb pics!
Hi there,
thanks again for the kind words.
The PCB were done by a friend of mine (Ulrich Rodenberg of Flexamp.com). He builds some very nice amps and also used to sell the "Flexloop" which is sort of a Dumbleator.
Cheers,
Dominik

I see there are 6 small tubes.
Preamp, OD, 2xreverb, PI
but what is the last one for?

Re: ODS Reverb pics!
Dominik,
I have a spare tube in my latest ODS build - is it worth trying the post PI CF into 6L6's ??
what do you think ?
