Need a builder to construct my JM sig

Post by the_jessmo7 »

Hey guys!

I bought all the parts for my John Mayer Signature amp and then got really overwhelmed about building it. Is there anyone here that would assemble it and get it working for me? Message me with what $$$ you’d charge for this service.

Thanks for your help!

I'm sure I'm not the guy for the job, but including your location would probably help you find someone. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip!

I’m in the Des Moines, IA area but would gladly pay shipping costs both ways.

Have you built any amplifiers or other electronic devices before? Maybe don't give up on it just yet and put it on a shelf, build out a couple of smaller/simpler circuit, and try again when you have some confidence.

You got this, man! Try building a pedal or two (if you have not before) and the amp will come easy-er for ya! The JM is on the easier side of amplifier builds plus the circuit board you have makes it less of a concern to mess up :D

Hey Ryan! I feel confident that I can wire up the board and run the wires in the amp, but I wouldn’t know what/how to troubleshoot if something were to not work correctly. More so, I’ve never worked with that kind of high voltage and wouldn’t be super confident firing it up.

I think I’m going to try and put the amp together and then have an amp tech look at it and troubleshoot any issues.

you can do it! build a light bulb limiter and go for it. Maybe start with a smipler build first, champ, 18 watt marshall.

Bump. Did you find a builder, or will you take up the challenge?
