Relay for reverb...What do you think?

It's a good idea use a relay for ON/OFF reverb?

I haven't a layout to place here , but my idea is:

When relay is OFF , signal go to PI through NC of relay wiring together.

When relay turn ON , the signal pass to "reverb in" stage through the normal-out contact and "reverb out" go to second contact normal out that close on PI.

What do you think?

I think what you're saying is that you'll bypass all the reverb circuit including the balance resistor, correct?

If that's the plan, then go for it. Bogner does that in the Shiva and the reverb bypass is excellent.

Because of the volume difference when you bypass reverb I prefer to do it both ways:
1. a switch on the reverb knob that breaks (opens) the signal being sent to the blend resistor - this gives you a volume jump and
2. a simple shorting mute (like Fender does) on the footswitch - no volume jump.
