Fender champ & clipping diode
Somebody as simple as you can where do I tie in 2 diodes to a fender champ to see if I like the distortion it makes ,,,I tried yesterday and couldn’t get it to work ..I have made distortion pedals that were huge with a 10 pin rotary switch with 10 different diode combinations, and each value change sound different I put in order from not much distortion to more and 10 was the most ,this is a simple test make it easy for me maybe draw diodes from ground to signal path to make this work

Something seems wrong, trying to turn a single ended tube amp into a diode clipper.
Tube junkie that aspires to become a tri-state bidirectional buss driver.

I fully agree!
I don’t see any logic to doing such except to play around with your soldering iron
!
These single ended class A amps of 4 to 6 watts sound great and have such a good dynamic feel exactly because of the near perfect combination of preamp and output stage distortion and clipping diodes shift the clipping to mostly buzzy sounding preamp distortion dynamic lacking
Garbage to my Ear!
If you want more good sounding clipping from the amps preamp section then get a clean stomp box with a good tone section to put in front of the amp so you can overdrive the first gain stage also.

Re: Fender champ & clipping diode
First I just wanted to know where the best place to insert the diodes ,and yes I am board I have ptsd over my house burning down in the Caldor fire nothing left ,I did this mod to a Chupacabra 50 and liked it ,wanted advise not a debate,I am confused and need to keep busy..so if I want to solder a champ I am hurting no one ,and this is how I learned what I do know,my first amp repair was a amp I blew up on purpose and read and fixed it .I am no electronics engineer but I have fun so is it really that hard to tell me where to insert the diodes for I can keep busy

Here are a couple of untried ideas that might keep you busy for a little while.

Thanks very much ,simple to the point .sorry for being rude but I have nothing.not all people are a expert ….like me ……in the 70s we were to loud for bars with a half stacks no master volume Marshall and my drummer had a octplus and a gong 60” we played to pay rent ,I had a i idea to run a champ through a 4 x12 bottom with camp on 10 sound was great but after 3 gigs it would blow up .some how I went to radio shack got a cap & resistor soldered them in we’re the burned ones were ,and I would get a few more show ,point …I did not know what I was doing but some how it worked
