Original looking IMP switch from Electroswitch

Post by UR12 »

Guys

I just thought I would pass this on. I was pleasantly surprised today when I got an order in from Mouser. A little history might be in order. The original Stackpole switch that Ken used is all but non existant. Stackpole (the original Mfg) was bought out by Electroswitch years ago. I was looking for IMP switch for the build I am working and took a chance because this looked like a nice alternative so I ordered one. When opened the box today it was like Christmas in June. Here is a pic of the original and the one I got today. The Mouser Part number on the Electroswitch is 690-C4D0112N-A The qty one price was $9.80.

hey dana, is this the type of switch with the keyed washer in the top that lets you adjust the number of turnable positions----- (i noticed yours was a 1 pole/12 pos. switch)? rh

Yep....it has the little key washer pin thing that you can adjust to make it anywhere from 1 - 12 position. Exactly like the one Ken used on Franchesca. Might be great for a Rotary style tone switch also.

Oh what a difference a day makes. Today these are going for $12.33 each before you have it shipped. Tack on another $5~$8 depending on your shipper. I didn't see this in the latest BOM, and it is made by the folks who bought Stackpole. Kenny's original switchmaker of choice dontcha know. It looks better than the Lorlin switch anyways.IMHO

It was in the one I did (and purchased back then)
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... hlight=bom based on UR12s discovery/input. Got to admit I might look at alternates considering the price hike myself, but it is accurate.

Ron: recommend you put it back in.

It's in the latest version..... I'm still waiting for some more responses on it....

I'm sure that it still has some inaccuracies in it that I would like to get straightened out before it gets put in the files section (at least I don't think it's in there yet).

I think that Glen K. said that his Annie has the Lorlin switch in it as it came new, which is why he choose it for his clones. KF did use different stuff at times I've heard.

UR12- I sent you a PM on this, interesting stuff...
