MV comparison?

Love the lar/mar ppimv (1959 Super Lead or Fender Twin Reverb ab763 " long tail pair p.i.") . Was recently looking at London Power's mv, which they say is "very transparent - no tone loss". Looks like the grid resistors of p.i. are removed/coupling caps are lifted & tied to dual gang pot (short description). Just wondering if anyone has compared the two and your thoughts.
