Pre Amp Boost

Now that Ive got my amp up and running really well thanks to some brilliant help , I'd like to add the preamp boost and make it switchable.

I have spare relay and stereo f/switch jack out so can add it no problem.

looking at what i've seen so far it looks just like all I need to do is break the bottom leg of the treble control from the bass pot connection .
Can I simply use a make/break connection via a relay to get the boost or do I need to simultaneously ground anything ?
