There are a couple. Here's a pic of #40 with that Data 70 style and I superimposed a shot of one of Carlton's amps (# unknown to me) with the 'Overdrive Special' in another LCD style font.

That makes sense. After looking at the pic and looking at the "M" in Data 70, it's not right in that photo. It's closer on this ODS:

Oh snap. Yeah the fonts I recommended were more for Overdrice SPecial name as you shown in the reddish pic. I had completely forgotten about the really atari looking stuff.

Are there any Dumble amps with the Data70 for controls and the LCD for the Overdrive Special logo?

Or any with the LCD used for everything?

Here's a link with a decent selection of Dumble amp pics:

Yup, I just compared to an ODS skyliner picture and all the lettershapes seem to match up—good find!:

I would say in that picture though it looks like gillies gothic extra bold or extra bold rounded rather than just bold. I could be wrong, though.

I've just discovered a neat little trick for getting your logos done in 'Gillies Gothic SB Bold' (the 80's Dumble font).

1. Open your photo editing software and create a 'new' template that is 10 cm wide by 5 cm high.

2. visit http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/singles/s ... c_sb_bold/

3. Close to the top of the page it lets you type some sample text. Type 'Overdrive' or whatever @ 96pt.

4. Right click your mouse over the sample text below and select 'copy'.

5. Import into your photo editor software.

6. Repeat steps 3,4&5 for the word 'Special'.

7. Repeat steps 3,4&5 for the words 'By Dumble' but this time @ 74pt.

By moving the imported images around, you can lay it out however you wish. It is almost an identical match. (Letter spacing is not quite there, but it is pretty hard to tell them apart.

Take the 'art work' to Kinko et voila....

Dumble fonts

Hi everyone,

does anyone know what the early to mid 70's fonts were used by Mr. Dumble? ...They were smaller and different.
