You mean #014.

I have the GP issue with that story and dig it. I just wish there was more about the Dumble, though the Steven Segal story made up for it.

And I'm not sure what you mean by converted... He's been playing Dumbles for a while.

What surprises me is that Joe describes #14 as "more compressed"
than other Dumbles he has owned. My impressions were quite different,
I found the earlier specimens to be more dynamic, less compressed than the later ones
(4th generation ) I played. Of course, I have never met #14, so who
knows what´s inside.

Wouldn't it be nice of Joe to post gut shots on his website. I mean, share the wealth bro.

Would that be a late first generation or early second generation?

Front panel seems identical to Lindley's two snakeskin Dumbles, which IIRC were 004 and 008?.

Was recently researching a tweed type circuit and found a YouTube video, where JB discusses how to achieve great tone. In the video, which looks to be done in a dressing room, and him playing a 57 LP burst, through a Fender champ placed and mixed in the toilet!!! He states that he has sold ALL his Dumbles!!?? He now plays Fenders and very few (if any) effects. maybe someone here can find the video. Just putting it out there
If it sounds good, it is good! Trust your ears

Is it this video? He does talk about going to Tweed Twins and Bassmans here. He mentions that he sold all his Dumbles (3:25):

I remember that GP story about Segal and JB that is old news.

I think JB sold his Dumbles.

That's right, he sold them all and got -- probably among other toys -- another 59 Les Paul which he claims to enjoy much more than any of the Dumbles and clones he used to own. Even ditched the Jubilee Marshalls too and is apparently riding the Tweed wave exclusively. He does sound fabulous through the Fenders, or basically anything else he plugs into. :)
