No it's not a Unicorn.
But an Anna Hummingbird which we have around here.
Such a beautiful animal.
Sometimes when everything seems like too much, I like to look at
pictures like this to show how awesome nature is.
Or better yet, move my feet to the back yard to see these and other cool animals.

We just put up H-Bird feeders this year, and have been really enjoying the little guys. They are amazing.

If what the evolutionists claim is true, todays lizards and birds descended from dinosaurs of ages past, then hummingbirds are even more of a miracle. Hey, there goes a miniature flying dinosaur-cousin, way beyond cool! Nature. is. amazing.
Also incredible these critters that weigh a fraction of an ounce can migrate over thousands of miles, flying between their summer & winter homes. Then they teach their kids how to do it, either that or all that navigation skill is pre-programmed inside a brain the size of a small garden pea. We live in a world of wonder. Remind me to pull my head out from inside amps to go have a look every now and then.

I'm currently boiling a 1/2 gallon batch of sugar juice for my crop of rapscallions every two days. By the end of September I'll be doing a gallon a day and still running out. They come thru here on the way to New Orleans and south La. where they build up their strength to cross the Gulf of Mexico to Cancun. It takes them something like 36 hours to make that jump.

This is off the web but that's one hell of a custom hot rod paint job the Creator choose to put on a cricket of all things.

Beautiful.
Nature is awe inspiring if you choose to look.
Nice to see things like this posted on what could be construed as a 'geeky' forum.

Great pic Tom! How did you stop the wings? 1/5000S shutter speed, or a stroben maybe?
