I think the board might be from RedPlate - just thinking

1) how they shared a shop
2) you can see the back panels are very similar in some later Quinn's and some Red Plates
3) you obviously see the component labels on the PCB are not what was used in a lot of places, including a lot of blank slots

What brand/type are those red caps shown in this amp?

I see them here and there in gut shots, looks similar to the ones used in the EC Fender amps...

Panasonic polypropylene or something?

Ooof, I see what you're saying. The entire board would most likely have to come out to replace those.

FWIW I spent the better part of a week building an amp at the RedPlate shop while Shad was building there. "Shared" is a big over statement. Henry supplied an aprox. 12' x 8' corner of his shop for Shad to build and gave him access to the parts bin. He also gave him access to what was then the in-house cabinet shop and builder and panel printer setup. RedPlates never had a PCB board. The garolite boards earlier in the post may be from the parts bin. Shad seemed like an OK guy from what I gathered. At the time he was benefitting from much cheap or free help from Henry. The relationship, as I understand it, started with Henry to offer to build his amps with his own staff to help with SDO wait times and make a little money for his staff. Ended up with Shad there building a few amps on his own and not seeming to work nearly as hard or frequently as all others present. Ended with a "see ya later" by both parties. The location is owned by Henry and has always been his shop. Long time friend with a generous heart - to a fault at times.....

That's how I had understood it. Not sure how that's not sharing...'gave him access' to space, parts, and labor

I think it's funny that Shad touted the use of Mercury Magnetics trannies on his website before he killed his own rep. I always wondered whether the Sweet Thunder I had years ago used MMs.

The power transformer on the SDQ2 is MM. It's a custom - says QA-P - which I assume is Quinn Amps Power [transformer].

The OT doesn't have a label. With the housing, the OT is much bigger than the Fender Twin transformers I own. I think I see where there was a sticker on the side bell.

SDQ1 pics should be up tomorrow.

SDQ 1 arrived (pics below). The clean channel is very bassy - I think there's a loose connection. The bright cap in preamp doesn't do anything, nor does the bright cap on the master volume...

The OT is a Heyboer for JCM800 and the power tranny is a MM.

Looks to be a "fix" for lack of room depth wise in the chassis.

Regarding the relay transformer position it keeps the flux spewing in the same direction as the power transformer.
