Connector ID

Post by C Moore »

I emailed PV, but do not know if they will pitch in or not.
Can any of you guys identify the Molex type connectors (name, part number, style, etc) in this amp.?
I would like to get the Male and Female ends to all the Slide On/Snap-On type connectors for the:
Reverb
OT
PT
Speaker
PT secondary
.....whatever has to be pulled to get the boards out of the chassis.
Thank You
I can take some better pics if that would help. Connector ID is not the reason these pics were originally taken. :)
Guess there are 4 White and 2 Red

This shows mods but it also has the whole circuit so you can see where the connectors go.

Holy Moley -
Thank You for the link.
I will sift through there and see if I can find similar. Would be Awesome if PV lends a hand.
Even if I can just get hold of the right M/F pins, I can make do.
Thanks Again :)

Well.......I got a call (2) and an email (3) from PV.
At this point they have given me no, real info at all.
I sent them pictures, gave them the connector numbers from THEIR schematic, gave them the serial number for the amp .......but they do not seem to employ Anybody that has any idea what I am talking about.
After 20 years of building Thousands and Thousands and Thousands of these Classic 30 and Delta Blues amps, they have no idea what I am referring to, and have no part number or name of these connectors, so that I could (possibly) buy them.
They took a stab at it though.
1. They were sure I was talking about the PCB mounted fuse holder near the power cord.
2. Then they figured I must have been talking about the metal, slide-on, connectors that go On The Speaker itself.

After talking to PV, I get the feeling that they think there are NO Molex/Plastic connectors in their amps.

I am perusing the link provided by Xtian now.......

If you are looking into making a jig you could find the pin headers at your local electronics supply place... Also, look for two-way radio shops for the Molex connectors you may need. I have worked at a few and they all had a wide range supply of them on hand.

Those are two very sensible suggestions, except for:
Local ES store
Local 2 way RS
We have not had anything like that since about 1985. :)

Write a letter to Hartely Peavey with photos enclosed. Try to be factual rather than critical in recounting your experience. It will help your case to make clear what you really want -- parts. I'm thinking he won't be a happy camper and you'll get your parts. It may take a while using snail mail.
