A tale of two amps
Looking for some advice on choosing between two Fender amps. One is a early 70's Dual Showman Silverface that has been mounted in a twin cabinet, new caps and tubes, evidentally the head cab was in bad shape, but he still has it. The second is a 212 Blues Deville later model with pcb boards, but not sure on exact year of either. I can aquire either for the same trade. I am leaning toward the Dual Showman, but wanted to ask some people who really know this stuff.
Yeah, I'm not that good.

No question in my mind which to choose, the Silverface Dual Showman (by far)!

+1 on Dual Showman. It will take pedals well and will be infinitely easier to service or tweak if you are so inclined. Snag the original cabinet as well if you can.

I am going to get the cab if I can, even if I have to use it as a pattern this amp will be back in a at least new cab to original specs. I am glad to hear it takes pedals well. I am looking into a good flange, and delay setup.Gibsonman63 wrote:+1 on Dual Showman. It will take pedals well and will be infinitely easier to service or tweak if you are so inclined.
