Hey all.
Long time reader, first time poster. I'm building a carmen ghia clone from scratch, and have been gathering parts. Most I already have, buying the others. Anyway, for the feedback resistor, it calls for a 3.3 meg or 2.2 meg. I have some 3.3M Carbon resistors, but they're 1/2 W. Will that work? I have a couple of 2.2M 1 watters, but they're metal.
Thanks guys
Randy

Re: Resistor substitution
Should work fine. It's not as if that resistor's going to heat up.
down technical blind alleys . . .
Re: Resistor substitution
That's what I was thinking. I think a 1/2 watt carbon will be better than a 1watt metal for that location. Just wanted to check.Leo_Gnardo wrote: It's not as if that resistor's going to heat up.
Thanks

Re: Resistor substitution
keep in mind though that good old CC type resistors hold up to short term over loads better than metal films do, but they can catch fire when fully going south on ya!
