I went today and saw/heard/played numerous amp & effects vendors - best thing [from a guest viewpoint] sparsely attended - little or no waiting to tear up some cool sounding gear.
Special shout out to Roach Amplification for some amazingly voiced / designed amps including a knockout 6550 powered head. They also brought a drummer and had jam sessions most of the day.
The vendors are friendly - speaking as the marginal guitarist I am - and happy to have you play their gear.

Re: Dallas Amp Show
I went to the show both days. If I would have heard about the show earlier, I might have gotten a room just to have more people play my amps and offer suggestions and/or opinions. The rooms were nice because there was the front demo area and the bedroom in the back. The normal guests might have objected to the sound levels that echoed throughout the atrium. In that respect, I would think there would be a better venue. No word on if there will be another show.
