2 Rock JM Signature amp layout

Post by beasleybodyshop »

Hello everyone, I posted a layout on Mark Fowlers thread regarding his version of the 2R/SSS build he did. Using some build photos and Aaron's schematic I came up with a layout.

This layout is dimensioned for F&T caps, RN65 plates/cathodes and 6PS coupling caps in a 22"X8" chassis. Mark mentioned that larger boards in a larger chassis would be the way to go.

My only real deviation was using a dumble/fender style rectifier board in lieu of the bias switch on the 2R. I like the discrete board and it can stay in the corner and not cause any excess noise.

I have checked this against the Aaron's schematic, but please take a look and let me know so i can make corrections. As always this use this layout at your own risk. I plan on starting this build here in a few months, so I can let you know how it turns out

I used 270k balance resistors under the cap board for those two 220uf caps in series.

Great stuff guys! Thank you very much for all the good work.

Quick question regarding the 1M/68K voltage divider just upstream of V4/Pin 7: Does the 68K come before or after the 1M? I have seen schematics and pictures showing it both ways. Some of the pictures (2-Rock guts and Hartman's clone IIRC) don't even include the 68K.

Thanks again!

The 1 Meg resistor is first followed by the 68k to ground.

Another change I made was to install a 250K trimmer pot in place of the 208K resistor for a reverb signal trimmer. I understand that its better to dial that in to taste.
