I was troubleshooting a bad ballast for a 4 bank lighting unit here at work....and discovered they use orange drop caps and Panasonic metal oxides. lol.

I've never seen/heard a fluorescent ballast that didn't hum badly. They are the bane of all single-coil pups!

They put goop between the orange drops to guard against microphonics.
