Are you gonna try it out? This caught my eye: SPL Meter shows SPL and levels of the 2nd and 3rd harmonic when testing with sine tones. I can imagine that might be useful!odourboy wrote:Not quite... closest I got was this beast:mdroberts1243 wrote: I've heard that some of these sound-card signal generators can also do audio spectrum analysis... that might be kinda cool for seeing the individual effects of tone tweeking changes... anybody got experience with these?

Installed last winter to do measurements on my newly finished home theatre/music room. Works quite well.mdroberts1243 wrote:Are you gonna try it out? Re: Audio Generator
I finally got to mine in the stack of stuff. That's what it is. It just fits in the shop, you know? Big, big dial, enough knobs and stuff to keep any amp builder happy. No software. Tubes.ApexJr. wrote:Hewlett Packard--- H/P ... The standard 200 CD

For somethings, software is great. I just got tired of "updated" operating systems making my recording/editing software, and especially effects plugins, obsolete. The makers of such software count on it. They have no incentive to support op systems older than the N-1.
Drove me to being a big believer in offboard hardware. It's more expensive in the short run, but not in the long. Besides, they've got KNOBS.

Re: Audio Generator
Well, threw the dice on vintage audio gear, and I'm halfway ok
I get tones, but some parts are shot. Amplitude pot is more of an off-on switch for sine wave, and an off-on-off for square. LOL.
Luckily there is a diagram of the Eico 377 online. I just gotta find me an old-style tube tester somewhere! It also has mega-size electrolytics, so that's second.
Or maybe I should just get another one ebay and starts swapping parts. Hmmm. LOL.

Well ok then. But if you happen to hear that there are still HP 200Cs in active use in industry, education, and the Military just remember that it didn't come from me.gearhead wrote:Well, threw the dice on vintage audio gear, and I'm halfway ok
