Wire and Knobs Just showed up

The Amp is coming along nicely ,thanks to many here, as I spend many hours sourcing info and learning stuff. A special thanks goes out to Dave Root for letting me see and try out one of his builds,and for sharing knowledge .

Today I soldered up all of the small pc boards I got from Dave. I then went to check the mailbox and found that my Apex Jr. order had arrived!!!!
I got 18ga and 20ga solid core teflon shielded as well as some small coax that i'm gonna try in my build.
I couldn't get the chicken head Knobs I was hoping for but at 40 cents each
I thought I'd see what Steve offered Me and to share a pic or 2 of the amp. underway.......[/img]

The cradle is genius.

Have you tried Antique Electronic Supply for knobs?

@surfsup you should build one

I can say the craddle I came up with is super easy to make i used 5/8" ply but 3/4" would be best.
Since I'm working on a one off amp build, I took the lenghth of the chassis and added a quarter inch to it then made the base plate to that dimmention . I added 8" high sides by pre drilling the plywood (pilot holes)then screwed with deck screws i had on hand . the craddle arms are made from spruce strapping 1"x 2"really 3/4"s by 1 an a half.......lol. make sure to design them short side up as the amp won't sit in as well.you can see the extra holes are on mine as i tryed to make em wide and they were hittin stuff.again pre drill pilot holes so wood doesn't split on ya.
Lastly i drilled the 1/4" holes to hold the amp level. if you bolt one side of the craddle together then you can use the chassis for a guide and scribe a line under the other craddle arm to get it level and not offset thus avoiding rocking in the craddle.
If you want to lay it down you just pull the front 1/4"bolts out and drop er down ....more pics will come.

If you want an even fancier version of a amp cradle I have these plans.

Be sure to build the ends high enough so you can have a chassis with power tubes installed for working inside the chassis.

You can build the features you want, you don't have to follow the plan to a tee.

That one was the one, that gave me the idea to build mine.
it's a great design and good for different size chassis but in my case i didn't neeed one so elaborate and made mine as to fit the CE chassis.
no fancy hardware , no special tools needed amp craddle!!!!!
