How's the build coming together?

Did you go with 50/50 or 100/100 on the cap can?

What schematic / values did you use to design the circuit?

Eric
It's pretty much just a high plate non-HRM with a bluesmaster PI. I have a 50/50 running in parallel so 100uF on the first filter stage.

Thanks Bob!

Your builds are always inspiring, I'm going to take a crack at something similar.

I gotta post my 40 watt CHAMP ods build one of these days. Tweed, vox cloth, digital reverb, gold faceplate and a ten inch speaker...cool little beast. I would do a Princeton if I had to do it again cuz you can do a 12" and have more room to work. The Allen power transformer is a beast !

Resurrecting an old thread...

This ended up completed and never powered up for well over a year. My day job travel picked up, then I asked my band to see if they could find a sub for a gig I couldn't make, in 7 years this was the first gig I missed and the sub took my job  I've subs for hundreds of gigs and never even considered taking another guys gig. So I went on the search for a band and ended up in Brass Illusion http://brassillusion.com

In any case, I'm back to this amp. Powered it up today on a light bulb limiter and the light lit bright. Some process of elimination and the bias supply is the problem. If I disconnect the C- cap from ground it seems ok. Must be a shorted cap.

Thx, yes playing with all these horns is a blast. I've done 3 gigs so far, the bluesmaster sounds great and cuts right through.

The bias was simple, a bad filter cap. Then I found a mistake on the screen supply which meant I had to pull the PS board out. I hope to get this powered up tomorrow.

Finally it lives. I had a wiring mistake on the tone stack as well but on the lightbulb limiter everything checks out. :D

Congrats.

How did you find the stainless steel chassis to work with? How hard to make extra holes?
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

It's harder than other chassis but with a good sharp drill bit and a drill press it's not too bad.
