Tubes and More "Marshall" 100 watt OT

Post by John_P_WI »

OK, I have bought plenty of "Marshall" OT's from Antique before and they have been Mag Comp or Marvel xformers. I just ordered and received a 100 watt OT for a Bluesmaster build.

The picture clearly shows the familiar MC / Marvel transformer but what I received was... who knows??? No markings, only adhesive on one bell cover where a label was. Leads are shorter and not tinned, what the hell? Any of you guys order any of these transformers lately and have any insight as to their origins?

Just curious when things change, I get a little nervous as to what the hell is going on.

Sounds like they cleared their bargin bin rack.

I would call them and talk about it doesn't sound like a new product.

They once sent me a used PEC pot had solder on all the terminals and no nut/washer.

Yeah, I'll give them a call when they wake up out there.... I was just a little surprised as the pic clearly showed the EIA code of 166 which is Mag Comp. and to receive something blank with no markings. Hmmm

FYI, After talking with them, supposedly it is a Pacific made OT, not the Mag Comp that is shown in the picture with the EIA code 166. Looks like another Xformer to give a taste test to, I'm cool with that now that I know it's a Pacific, not some unknown import. Doubtful, that I'll push it too hard in the Bluesmaster.... riiiight.
