Tribute to the Telecaster
I dismissed the Tele in my youth as being a Strat without the third pickup and tremolo. I was so fucking wrong. Thought it might be nice to compile a list of incredible Tele solos.
This one simply devastates me:

Gurl, puhlese! Tele is a Fender Les Paul. Beat you to the ground. I like flat poles and swamp ash. Thumpy enough to rock on.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Just for that I'm posting another Tele solo, uploaded to youtube on my fortieth birthday:

Watch out or I'll break out some Jungian Synchronicity videos.

Re: Tribute to the Telecaster
I'll take Telecasters over Strats almost all the time. Way more going on for my ears. Strats get used as milk toast way too often.
Re: Tribute to the Telecaster
Tele is my second most favorite guitar by FAR!!! Don't ask about my first....it's not old...or cool.

Teles & Strats aren't too bad when you mix them together......

I love my Tele! Bought a 1994 American Standard two years ago from a retiring music teacher. Quickly became a favorite.

Re: Tribute to the Telecaster
This thread wouldn't be complete without something from Clarence White. I was lucky enough that I happened to be in Washington DC during the spring of 1969 and saw without advance planning the Byrds (White-Parsons-Battin-McGuinn) at American University. To this day it remains a memorable show.
No video but the audio is good -- two of Clarance's best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bEM4lnDSHc
There is someone speaking at the beginning -- I guess to fill time while the band was tuning or fiddling with equipment. Someone poses the question as to who was speaking. I'd guess it is Gene Parsons. Here's a sample to match the voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj2-xwJJwRY

Here's another, by Campilongo, that really gits the sound for me.
