Re: Why does HAD use vintage Fenders to do complete rebuilds?
Good info on this threads. So if HAD can make anything sound good (including modding new production Fenders), is often using new transformers and there's questionable mojo in old pots than really why is HAD choosing to use old Fenders/Marshalls as donor amps instead of using repro chassis and new pots? Begs the question why he's taking the mod route and staying away from complete new builds? Is it solely to 'lay low' and not draw too much attention? I have heard of a new ODS lately, anyone know if there are any new complete builds from HAD in the last few years (I don't mean complete re-build but a new complete amp like an SSS or ODS)?

I recall HAD used to have access to a million square feet of fender parts - for free.
I would expect him to have about 300 old fenders lyiing under a tarp out back.

A friend of mine took delivery of a brand new ODS last year. Landau also got a new ODS last year.StratStringSlinger wrote:Good info on this threads. They where not free. He did have a place that got all the Fender stuff from the late 70's early 80's. I still have about 50 late 70's twin circuit boards from there.briane wrote:I recall HAD used to have access to a million square feet of fender parts - for free.
