Scroll through the PDF till you see the A5h, A8a, A9h, and A9k designs. Also, see the design notes on the last page.
Re: Layout
Sven, I don't know of a layout for this specific amp but since it is a Trainwreck variant, you can easily start with the standardized Express preamp board and power supply board layouts, and convert the part values and/or add more turrets/eyelets as you need.svenbode wrote:Thanx, where do I get a layout?
That schematic and the parent document are quite old. There is some revision history on the last page of the PDF. I don't know anyone around here who has built the Blues variant. Most of us aren't really interested in variants of Ken's Trainwreck amps since the Express is a unique amp and behaves in a specific way (power amp distortion first, then PI, then preamp stages). Honestly, I wouldn't even call any of those amp designs Trainwrecks. They are not Trainwrecks, just variations on a theme.svenbode wrote:Who build one?
Hope that helps!

Re: Trainwreck Blues Express
IIRC, the blues express was a series of mods to an Electar Tube 30 amplifier. I never saw a layout for one, I'm guessing because the mods were done on the Tube 30 PCB. There may be some gutshots on the web or at Blue Guitar.

Are you aware that you can access the real Express layout and schematic here?
The Blues Express was a best guess that was made before wizards at this site sorted it all out.
Be aware that the Express is a finicky beast to dial in. If you are just getting started yet still want some great tone, the Trainwreck Rocket is a much more friendly build.
G'luck.
