Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue - good or bad?

Post by Kinkless Tetrode 66 »

Ok, I have heard various things about the Blues Deluxe... Some say that it is the worst Mexican amp ever, that "CBS quality control was better"... other say that this amp will become legendary! So what is the opinion of the community here? Could you please post your experiences with this amp and whether you think it is a good amp or not. Thanks.

I have repaired a few modern Fender amps. SCXD, HRD, Blues Jr., and most recently a Tweed Bassman RI. They ALL have reliability issues due to underspec'd resistors, crappy ribbon cables, and the like. But, they sound good (I thought the Tweed Bassman was awesome) and they can be repaired. If I was a touring musician, I'd rip out the circuit boards and replace with a turret board with good components.

I have also repaired or rebuilt a few vintage silver and black face Fenders. Much easier to repair, more reliable, great sound.

Have not played the Blues Deluxe, but I imagine it's in the same family as the other modern stuff. I like modern Fenders--just be prepared to repair or pay to have it repaired.

To play through one is a sheer bore and to work on one is a terror.

God bless North America all the way from around Dallas to just south of Detroit. roflmao

Funny enough. My number is a digit off something called Nightingale Services that helps people apply for welfare. A hoot.

Me? I run a service called Nightinjail. It's my rollerderby name. Lawrence Nightinjail. I'll send a bunch of hard hitting babes to break your phone if you call me once more about your benefits stopped and you blame me before I even say hello.
