Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
So I decided on the Heyboer HTS-5199 PT and the HTS-5200 OT for my Rock-It project. I found the color code for the 5199 ( Thanks RJ GUITARS ) now I am looking for the codes for the 5200 I did see another drawing from rj guitars with the same color scheme as the 5200 (http://www.rjguitars.net/Digital_Images/HTS-9384.jpg) ( if they the same cool if not does someone have the color scheme. I did email Heyboer and am waiting for a response. so as Not to insinuate that they have not responded I only emaild last night. but I thought what the heck I will throw the question out here..

That OT is not really the best choice for a Rocket, but if you do use it, go with the 5.2K ohm tap as it is closer to Rocket specs than the 6.6K would be (unless you plan to offset your secondary to compensate, in which case the 6.6K might be OK too).
A better choice would be the Triode Electronics Dynaclone A470S transformer.
Having said that, I believe that the color codes you need are here:
http://www.toneslut.com/transformers/tr ... eb2009.gif
Look for the one that says Standard (Old Style) 6600/5200
I love Rockets - good luck with the build.

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
Thanks for the link colors on my tranny match the vintage spec single tap scheme.
There were certainly enough opinion on the best OT to use several stated that the 5200 provided spectacular results. Being a newbie at this I also elected to ask the folks at Heyboer this was what they liked. I am sure it most likely wont suck. If I don't like it and decide to change later, Just curious what would you suggest?

Heyboer HTS-5200 Transformer color code
Just as a point of reference just corresponded with Alden from Heyboer the attached drawing from RJ Guitars http://www.rjguitars.net/Digital_Images/HTS-9384.jpg is the same wiring code for the HTS-5200
hope RC Guitars don't mind me referencing it

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
That OT should work, but is not the ideal unit for a Rocket. The Rocket used the Dynaco A470, which is 4.3k primary. I would be interested to hear your results though.

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
I've used the 5200 (aka HTS-9633) in a Rocket and it sounded very cool, but the traditional Rocket tranny is the Dynaco variant.
I still have the transformer info available but you'll need a link to find it. I don't keep the transformers in stock but I don't mind sharing the links.

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
Just wiring up the transformers and I have a question on the layout for the 120v power. It shows the hot ( 240V which I assume is 120 to me here in NJ) going to one side of the switch and the other side connected to "0" I don't know which color wire is related to "0" I have 2 blacks labeled 120v Looking for which wire is the other side of the the power
Also on the 5200 I have 2 apparently unused wires (purple & green) I assume I just cap these ?
Layout Drawing = http://www.ceriatone.com/images/layoutP ... iatone.jpg
Transformer = http://www.rjguitars.net/Digital_Images/HTS-5199.jpg
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
On your layout, the hot wire from the wall power is labeled L (in red on the layout). The "L" is the "live wire". From the power socket, the live wire goes to the fuse (I suggest using color coded wire here to help keep things properly identified), and then to the front panel power switch (labeled C1 on layout).
From the power switch the live connection goes to the power transformer primary (120 volt side of HTS-5199 diagram). See the MOV (metal oxide varistor) on the layout ..... that's the switch lug (left side of switch) the hot side of the PT 120v primary goes to.
Back to the layout, the "N" on the power socket is the neutral line (0 volts). That gets connected from the power socket to the power switch at the point labeled C2 on the layout (again, use color coded wire to keep things organized). Notice where the other side of the MOV (mentioned above) connects to the front panel power switch? That's where the other 120v primary wire of the PT goes.
On the power socket, the "E" (green wire on the layout) is Earth Ground .... aka safety ground. VERY important. That connection should be a short stout wire gauge securely fastened (bolt, very tight) to the chassis near the power socket. NO other ground wires of any type should be connected there!
Probably both of the 120v primary wires on the PT are black. Polarity doesn't matter. Getting the wiring correct, with respect to the layout and schematic is essential.
Hopefully one of the experienced builders here with proof what I've written and correct me if I am wrong.
Best Wishes and Good Luck with the build.

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
Great sanity check all that you have stated I is what I have done still don't understand what wire on the PT is related to the "0" connection which is the other side of the MOV.

Oh Yea,both of the 120V wires are black. Do I just use one and tape the other?

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
Actually after going over every connection on the layout I see that the last to wires on the OT go to pin 7 on the EL84 pairs. Whew

The color code on the PT wiring diagram you linked isn't the same as the color code on the layout.
The PT primary wires are both black. As I said, polarity of those two black primary PT wires doesn't matter.
You must use both of them, otherwise you will not be supplying 120v to your power transformer. Study the layout. Also get a schematic and study it. Then read what I wrote again. It should be apparent.
Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
Ceriatone does not provide a Schematic. I am simple assembling from the wire diagram. several of the colors do not match even with the the pre-assembled board section. The PT connections are for the most part are easy enough to identify on the wire diagram. I just don't know where the 2 120's go are you saying that they both go to the same place. Hate to sound like a bone head this is the only point in the wire diagram i could not correlate to the physical wires that I had. I am not an amp tech I'm just trying to complete a fun project.
Thanks for you help

Re: Heyboer HTS-5200 color color code
I agree with Nickc, the level of understanding that you demonstrate in your responses is clearly insufficient to safely complete the project. Please invest in yourself. The rocket schematic can be found in either the Trainwreck discussion or files section. I am in Summit, NJ if you have studied and still need hands on help.
 Have fun! Jelle

Look if I had purchased the Ceriatone transformers I would not even need to to ask you guys anything. the amp is done except for this one wire, I was trying to be safe by asking those with experience, all I really need is for someone to make the correlation between the wire labeled "0" on the transform layout. No need to call me stupid because I am a hobbyist regarding this Amp. If you don't want to help just say so and I will not post here any more.
