wierd problem with liverpool build
Finshed up a liverpool and it wont fire up, it seems that caps 3 and 4 are grounding out, i cant figure out how unless its through vr2 the base pot. vr3 lugs 2 and 3 connected to caps 3 and 4 read right to ground? mark

Do you have a dental mirror to look under the tone board to see if a wire or cap/resistor lead is hitting the chassis. Did you use turrets or eyelets?
I guess maybe too much heat on the back of the pots when solder the buss wire could cause a grounding issue huh.

Eyelets, It was a bad pot, wired in a new one and she fired right up, but
i made a mess of the thing now i gotta tidy it back up, i used alpha pots
out of all my builds it was only the second bad pot ive found, Thanks mark
i ran all the wires under the board which i never do anymore but did on this one and sure enough it came back and bit me, I really like this liverpool compared to the rockett

Oh both amps have their place one for sweet bass tone chime and the LP for in your face overdriven tones. Use a A/B/Y into 4x12 stereo cab and you have the best of both worlds.
Glad you got it working.

A cap is leaking DC to the control side. Scratchy and wants to pretend to squeal? Don't mess with flipping wires.. yet.
Try pulling V1 and try the controls, then V2 and try the controls. Measure for DC all along the signal path. You might lift one end of the coupler for each stage so you can narrow down the possibility if something doesn't show up quickly. Working in blocks.. ya know..
