Some people may beg to differ and also, there are (commercial) implementations of the Deep Switch that are INCORRECT, so some people's opinions could be off the mark. Anyway, I think the Deep switch works well with the Classic tone stack because it beefs up the (low end) resonance a bit; I also like what it does to the PAB (preamp boost), it tones it down a pinch. When you get to a Blues Master or Skyliner preamp, however, the tone is way fat in the first place to the point that if anyone needs more bass than what's available...well, I wouldn't know what to say.

I have heard the Deep switch in Skyliner tone stacks in Two Rock amps, they incorporated everything Dumble ever offered: bright, deep, mid, and jazz/rock. To me, the Deep on the Skyliner didn't add anything. I did not hear the Deep engaged in their version of the Blues Master, but I would be inclined to believe it wouldn't add much either.

Now, if you don't "hear it" maybe there's something miswired? I think you should be able to hear it. I would suggest the effect would be along the lines of the difference between palying the amp through a half-open back cabinet (equivalent to Deep off) and through a ported cabinet (Depp on).

Hope this helps,

Gil

My experience is the same. I kind of thought the Skyliner incorporated some of the essence of what the DEEP does.

I added DEEP to my Fender Super Twin conversion because I left the tone stack mostly FENDER rather then SKYLINER. In that amp the DEEP switch gives a very very cool tone to the clean sound. Like "Super skyliner" or "blackface Fender" but it does not distort as well, thus the need to have it on a switch, so you can get rid of it if you want to use OD.

I have a Ceriatone built BM HRM and it has so much deep bottom end so I surely don't use the deep switch much sometimes with the OD to see how I like it.

I'm using a Two Rock style 212 with 12-65's and Les Paul.
