Heyboer trafo!

Post by grtamp »

Does anyone use Heyboer transformers for D-amp clone?

compared to Mercury Magnetics or Magnetics Component trafos , these transformers are good?

Thanks

I've used them on many amps of all kinds and love 'em!! At least as nice/good as the others you've mentioned.

Thank tubedogsmith , I've always heard good things, but here in the forum don't talk much.

I can see discussions on Mercury or M.Component !!

The Heyboer transformers are distributed by www.mojotone.com ?

Most all my D clones have Heyboer power and output iron in them. Unless things have changed the main iron in Bludotones are Heyboer as well. I like using Heyboer because I rarely use anything off the shelf and Heyboer is very conducive to custom winds.

if your building an EL34 based amp, or looking for a marshall style trani, i would recommend Marstran every time. I used a Marstran JMP style OT for my HRM EL34 amp and it kicked ass.. great tones. When ever i build a marshall clone i go to marstran first to see what they have in stock or to find out what the wait time is then i go look at Heyboer.

Having said that, i believe hayboer assemble the mastran iron.. point is though. I have built two JTM45's and just loved the tone of the mastran one over the straight up and down heyboer and so have never looked back. So far i have used Marstran in five and half builds.. the half being one where i only used the OT.
