Re: Express Wattage?
Hi jckid649, I whole heartedly agree it would be best to wait until you settle-in on the speakers before you start tuning the amp. Back in the mid-90's, I bought a Fender Custom Shop TomeMaster half-stack. The 4x12 can was so bass heavy I couldn't use it. I tried it at one gig (an outdoor event, so no bass from the room) and even with the bass control all the way down, I was swimming in bass. So I returned the cab the next day. This was a long time before I started tearing into tube amps.

Yes, see I noticed the same thing. I can dial down the bass controls all the way and it is so boomy that it muddies the sound of the mid range. I think the cabinet will still be good but I just got to use other speakers in there to really bring out the amps personality.JazzGuitarGimp wrote:Hi jckid649, I whole heartedly agree it would be best to wait until you settle-in on the speakers before you start tuning the amp. Does anyone have any input on my choice of using 2-Pre-Rola Celestion 25W paper cones in the top and 2-Scumback M75-LHDC's in the bottom of the cab?
