That's what I'm thinking. I loaned my $80 tile saw out to a friend. I'll have to go get it back!billyz wrote:I use a wet tile saw ( M&K) works great , no dust. Cuts Travertine too!

Re: Cutting circuit board
I've cut it on my table saw with no issues...except that nasty dust and the smell is pretty bad. I've got a hardcore dust collector and it still can't get all the nasty dust out of the air

Bandsaw with metal cutting blade, followed by belt sander, for me. I just use a close lamp and blow the dust off the cut as I go, so I can keep it reasonably straight.

Re: Cutting circuit board
Wet tile saw is the beez kneez when it comes to cutting FR4 type materials. Like Billy says no dust and perfectly straight lines. I've cut boards using pretty much any method I can think of (related: http://vimeo.com/42674279) and the tile saw is by far my favorite.

+1 for the tile saw. Cuts it like butter. I didn't even need to sand it.

A sheet metal squaring shear works great if you have access to one (My brother-in-law owns a plumbing & heating company). No dust, no tear-outs, nice crisp cuts.

Just don't let your 18" Starret graduated steel rule get under the shear when you are aligning the Garolite..... Don't ask it happened on my last Plexi build .
Re: Cutting circuit board
I don't seem to have any problem with my circular saw and an old blade. Been cutting a lot of it and the blade is still fine.
I clamp a guide to the sheet and rip away. I do it on the driveway using an empty box as a table and let the wind blow the dust away. I use my T-shirt collar pulled up over my mouth and nose as a mask as well. I run a bit of sandpaper over the cut edge and viola...
Cheap, efficient, fast and works fine.
I have a tile saw but why bother...but, I'm not making 5 amps a week either.
