As long as the bias resistor 1k5 goes to ground at all times a switch like that will work to switch the two caps to ground. That's what I have done in several amps. Down for lower gain up for higher gain center off (no bypass cap in circuit).

Re: Rocket pre amp help
I added an on/off switch with a 25uf cap and I really like the boost option! I may also try another switch for more options - 10uf, off, 25uf...
Sorry if my layouts were incorrect earlier. Didn't have the switch and meter at the time. Easy enough when you do:)
While the boost is a great feature it would be even better to have it on a a foot switch. Did anyone do this with good results and no switching noise??
I've seen Weber's kit that looks promising: https://taweber.powweb.com/store/chansword.htm
Here's another discussion about the relay switch: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... c318de7e8e

Re: Rocket pre amp help
I have done the foot switch boost to several Rockets one cap only.
Just takes one wire to the jack and no noise.

Re: Rocket pre amp help
Mark, did you use the Weber relay with the footswitch? If not, how did you add it?

No relay. Wired negative of bypass cap to the tip of the Switchcraft jack.
Used generic Marshall style single button foot switch.

Cool, I'll try that. Thanks!

						Re: Rocket pre amp help
the no cap and 100pf cap are both less bright or more bright than the 500pf?M Fowler wrote:Yes I remove that 100pf cap on the volume pot and add a DPDT switch center off. down is 100pf cap center no cap and up 500pf cap.Mark, which is the brite cap that you switch? Is that C3, the 100pF across the Volume wiper?
You could also leave the 100pf cap on the volume pot and use 47pf in down position, center is stock 100pf then, and up use 250pf or 350pf.

thats what i thought.
is it wrong that since i am using an express chassis for a rocket i am trying to figure out what to do with the 2 extra holes (small one for bright switch, and the other for the POT)
i guess i can do this mod, it's easy to reverse if i dont like it. or i can just always leave it in the 500pf positon on my amp
