Source of gravel like rattle in AC30

It's hard to tell from the picture .... is that axial or radial gravel?

What year is that AC30? I hear 60's gravel commands a high price on eBay.
If it tests strong, maybe you can pass it off as NOS.

Now I need a cap kit.
We can't decide if it's a '63 or '64', so I bought a bag of aquarium stones to replace the gravel with.

Well I hope you got black gravel, the white gravel sounds like crap.

uhoh
What about gravel paint? Enamel, or lacquer? Maybe I'll goop over it so no one can tell... that it's black gravel... the good stuff.
I am thinking I'll use asphalt to goop this one.

This amp does sound like it fell from Heaven..and rattles not as much.. but hums along with the melody..
It's great to have you back!
In other news.. my days as a hand model are over. Looks like Cloris Leachman, or worse.

You made sure to reform the gravel at operating voltage before you put it back in the amp right?

I won't have to now. I found a great deal on ebay, 3lbs for a dollar. A few of them are pulls from older driveways, but about half are NOR.
Ok I need coffee

A new name for your amp comes to mind "Stoner".

Re: Source of gravel like rattle in AC30
Seriously, how the fuck does gravel get inside an amplifier?
Re: Source of gravel like rattle in AC30
I prefer meteor fragments to the domestic stuff. Maybe the cryogenic, deep-space environment has an impact (no pun intended) .... I don't know .... but whatever IT is .... it just sounds better.
