Got around to tweaking a 124 classic I built a while back
have the FET on a relay...using this layout

no voltage to pedal side of relay, changed out diode and relay
need to check the pedal wiring...
any comments are appreciated

Congrats Daring, thanks for the update.
Nice thing about mistakes is that you learn from them. I have built more than a dozen amps and/or preamps and most of them have had one or two mistakes. I just make sure the voltage lines and electrolytics are placed correctly, not good to fry something.
