330uf/385V axials electrolytics

Post by lionaird »

Just wondering if anyone knows a source for high voltage 330uf axial electrolytics? The only ones I've found so far are Jantzen Audio ones but they are some $75/piece  I suppose the other option would be to use radials but axials would be nicer...

http://www.surplussales.com/Capacitors/ ... 499uF.html

A couple options. It's an unusual value. I'd look at a more common value in that range.

Cedist.com has 350uf@385. They're not axial but they will work.

Assuming that you want them for a 183 and you want axial. Ceritone is about the only place on the planet that has them. I'm using a pair, they seem very high quality BUT my build isn't done yet.

BTW the real 183 used radials.

Eric

PM me if you just want a pair.

Good question/thread i just hooked up with some 220uf 350v atoms. I was going to go 100uf but read an old thread on the subject. Good stuff.

Fwiw. There are some Ruby caps that look like a good fit.

Thanks for all the replies. Might have a chat with Nik about it (great guy, dealt with him in the past). Using radial ones would work find too though...

If you are using radial for the preamp PSU, you can change the PCB and use radials for the power amp PSU as well. I do that.

I buy 350V / 100uF caps. Three series-pairs in parallel = 150uF / 700V.

Works well for me, and they cost $6 total.
