Greg is a great guy. To me the Club forty is his best effort. Not really based on any existing Marshall, just based on what we all love in Marshall tone.

Perhaps you could just go through this thread: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=11906 and find the sounds that you think are close to what you imagine. Then the members here will be able to tell you what kind of Dumble circuit has been used for the recordings that you feel are closest in sound to what you imagine. Then you'll have a starting point for your journey through Dumbleland.
