Does anyone know what kind and gauge wire Dumble used in his creations? How about the caps and resistors?
Is there a parts list for Dumble-style amps?
Many thanks.

Re: Dumble wiring info
The wire is 20 AWG, mostly solid core, 18 AWG for the heaters, High Quality Co-AX for the Shielded wires.
FWIW I use Mil-spec stranded teflon and it works beautifully

Thanks Funk. Does it matter is the wire is teflon coated, plastic or cloth covered?

No, not in sound at least. I like the teflon because if you accidently touch it with the soldering iron it won't melt like PVC. Cloth is just too expensive and freys. I use ApexJr's 20AWG stranded and his shielded.Ellicaster wrote:Thanks Funk. Does it matter is the wire is teflon coated, plastic or cloth covered?

wire size and type
I used solid PTFE (teflon) core 22 for signal and 20 for heaters, high load areas etc. Got it from ApexJr. Next time I will use stranded because the solid just breaks too easily especially if you nic it during stripping. Solid core sure looks good though because it stays where you put it. BTW, it appears to take about 45 - 50 Ft. of wire to do a Dumble.

One of the reasons I like the ApexJr PTFE stranded wire is that it stays put better than other stranded wire. It strips easily too.
I've also used PVC coated stranded wire and it works well also, but you'll need some method of keeping it in place, I.E. tie wraps.
Also, be sure that the insulation is good for 600V. There's a ton of 300V PVC wire out there that can be breached if a 400V line touches the chassis.
