I don't have a spot on my board. So, no turrets or eyelets are available. I was thinking of going to the electronics store to find "tubular" wire crimps that I can crimp my components/wires to the MOSFET legs, touch it off with solder, then shrink over that. Like these (who came up with that name?):

Any better ideas? The MOSFET is admittedly small and the legs are short and very close together so I worry there's not enough room even if I take the bulkly plastic cover off and use shrink.

I like to use sockets on transistors that I may swap in and out.
Like these.

You can make a three pin socket out of an opamp socket if you have one of those around.

I just wanna put a mosfet after my GS1 like below. That won't work because I can't get more leads in there. On the grid I need a resistor lead, a zener lead, and the mosfet leg. Plus the socket legs are basically similar to the mosfet legs. I think I'll just crimp them and screw the mosfet to the chassis where I already have a hole near the V1 socket hole. I'm sure the shack as some crimps I can use tonight. All this is done except putting in the mosfet but I'll probably use a 1k instead of 220R.

Just make sure you put the diode at the mosfet and twist the wires together between the mosfet and board.

Oh OK.
You could make a little eyelet or turret board.
That is what I did for my relay power supply regulator.
Just be sure to watch proper static guidlines and use a clip or heat sink when soldering each leg.
Here it is stuck down in the corner of the amp.
That green thing is the amp pilot light so it has nothing to do with the regulator.
This was the second one I built because I had a failure of a rectifier occur.
I have this mounted on a small standoff, bolted through the chassis.
It also has a heat sink on it you can see, under the nut.
You don't have to use the double row of eyelets.

If your transisitor has the tab, then perhaps securing it to the chassis then solder wires to each leg and heat shrink.
Be sure to pay attention if you need to isolate the tab from electrical ground.
By the way, the G-D-S on a MOSFET is Gate, Drain and Source.

I have soldered wire to each leg, then put shrink wrap over the leg. I wouldn't use a crimp because those are really meant for multi-strand wire.
The soldering iron tip shouldn't need it, but you should ground it before applying solder. You won't blow or burn the MosFet if you're quick enough.

Well i got it all done but forgot to change out my first RC resistor from a 10k to the 2k7 and smoked it. Rookie move. Will change that tomorrow.
I wound up buying the crimps but they were too meaty. I just put a loop on each lead, crimped it on the leg of the mosfet and soldered them. Used solid core for the B+ run to make it easy. Should be fine i'll post a pic later.
