Anyone tried Solens in the power supply of a wreck?

I've never tried their caps in the power supply...although I do see that they offer some that would be suitable. Radial, though.

I have used tried to use them, as well as hovlands, in various spots in the tone circuits and for coupling. I've found them to be a bit "sterile" for my ears. I do have a fastcap .1 sitting happily in a blob of silicone near the presence pot of my personal express clone. :D

I've used them very successfully in a bass preamp!

I built one preamp with nothing but poly caps in the power supply. They are not solen though, but motor run caps. They are much cheaper but work great.

Was contemplating posting to this thread since its not a wreck, but the circuit is very similar to a liverpool.

I used solens everywhere. Tight build. Worked great. Sound great. I plan to use them again, especially at V1 where a smaller 400V cap can be used to free some space. Due to the larger dia. I needed a 2.5 inch chassis. Pics on first post.

that's real nice.

for future reference solen makes a 100uf and a 50uf can film cap in a 2diameter casing.

Good to hear some positive feedback on Solens in guitar amps, I've really only heard negative things!
