Is that cathode resistor on the cathode follower 56K? Hard to tell, but the third band looks red in the pic making it 5K6.
The eyelets at the treble pot return to the pI entrance, the junction of the 220K and .047 cap, could do with some solder in them.

G,B,O 56k + i did re solder those weak looking eyelets thanks for your time! I am still trying to figure this one out!!!

I will spend some time looking at your pictures and see if I spot anything, we need get you up and running with a sweet sounding amp which I know this amp is capable of.

you could check those dropping resistors in the power supply against your schematic / layout. I am trying to do that but I cannot make out what some of those colours codes are.

Plus I am really confused by your quoted voltages in the OP. I don't understand what is what here:

Either your meter doesn't read low enough, or you have it set to too high a voltage range. You should be able to read from 1 - 2 V on the cathodes of your first two stages

well I been away a while (my wife got ill) I'm back trying to figure this thing out. so far this is the worst sounding amp I have built?
