Yes, that amp is legit.

Wow, That amp is cheap. I called the Guitar Exchange in Baltimore MD and he has a 80's Dumble for sale (listed in VG) He is asking $50,000.
I mentioned that I made a clone and asked if I could compare his original to mine and he said it was cool. Now I need to find the time, not in too much of a hurry though at that price!

That's just silly money. I'd think that $3000-4000 would be more like it.keithrick wrote:Wow, That amp is cheap. I called the Guitar Exchange in Baltimore MD and he has a 80's Dumble for sale (listed in VG) He is asking $50,000.
Awesome. I did that a few weeks ago and was very happy with my amp. No it's not as good but it only cost me about $200.I mentioned that I made a clone and asked if I could compare his original to mine and he said it was cool. That amp is going cheap, should pull 20k on a good day. Clones or no clones an original is still worth the current market value. Now who wants
to buy a rolex , going cheap.
to buy a rolex , going cheap.

Has anyone noticed the extra resistors at the coupling cap of v2b in the pics? Looks like they go to the cathodes of v2a and v2b...I have never seen anything like that before. Does anybody know what this is?

Re: I am sure everyone has seen this?
looks like tweaking the bias of the tubes by manipulating the Cathode resistors - with both being raised off ground by the common if would cause the OD2 to bias higher if OD1 was conducting more and vice versa. Just guessing that the common resistor is fairly large and the individual ones are small, but I can't make out the values in the picture.

Thanks!
Has anybody over here got experience with this tweaking area?
I guess that the plates are 100k and the cathodes 1.5k with a large resistor bypassing the cathodes? Are there any examples of this modification in other dumbles or is this a post Dumble mod?

god helps, i only want to sale my Dumble
yes, it is true. My name is Oliver, you speak about my Dumble auction on ebay.com. I live 10 miles away from the shop in Bochum, which imports ca 20 Dumbles in the early 80ties. A Dumble costs 1200 USD in the 80ties and no one wants it. There was no reason to clone a Dumble and my amp is definitly 25 years old. I received many mails from ebayers, who can`t believe, that it is a real thing.
cheers
Oliver (twicenicexx)
if anyone here wants some pics from special parts, please ask me but do this fast, because the Dumble is no longer mine.
Re: I am sure everyone has seen this?
I have seen the two Dumbles at the guitar exchange in Cantonsville, both wrapped in suede, one blue and one in orange. When I enquired about the amps the guy said they were not for sale, then he started in on how valuable they were and flat out said you couldn't afford those amps if I were selling them anyway. I thought to myself how do you know if I can afford these amps or not, then basicially said if wasn't buying anything to leave his store, and I was the only one there. I couldn't believe it ,I wouldn't buy anything from the guitar exchange if my life depended on it . WOW!!. I usually don't say bad things about any store, maybe the guy was having a bad day whatever but I actually left there pissed. If the guy was tired of people asking about the Dumbles then put them in the back, your not selling them so why put them on the floor, unless you are looking for a way to piss off your customers.

My Friend had a similiar experience with the same store and it's owner. He said he was an ass, I have no opinion at this point. I just want to go and compare my amp to the real deal. He said he would fire it up. I think he wants to here my Trainwreck clones. 50K is a high price that is why I am not in too much of a hurry....but surely this week!talbany wrote:I have seen the two Dumbles at the guitar exchange in Cantonsville, both wrapped in suede, one blue and one in orange. Re: I am sure everyone has seen this?
A friend of mine told me he stopped in the Guitar exchange about three months ago and told me the guy was selling his Dumbles and was asking 50 grand for them with a Dumbleator ,he also told him that he needed someone to check them out because he was not sure that they worked, and he hadn,t had them on in years. Chances are the amps work ok but they will no doubt need a cap job. As far as the outside condition the amps looked in good shape.
