I have started on my ODS clone this week. I am generally using the Normsters layout (Thanks). It has Heyboer transformers and I am using the BUD 17x8x3 chassis. Heres some pics
Just a beggining but in a couple of weeks it should be running.

I was originally going to use Weber's channel switches but I don't think there will be enough room. I am thinking of using the switching scheme used in Doug Hoffman's 18 watt. Here is a pic. Could I use my unused 5v heaters for this purpose? Would that reduce the chance of noise? Thanks TJ
The drawing is Doug Hoffmans off his information library.

Bob, I got an issue with that schematic though... the two rectifiers on the left aren't doing anything, are they?
Please correct me if I am wrong, but the negative pole of the capacitor should be connected to a point in between the two left most diodes. Does that make sense? I am saying this because I used your schematic as a reference but I think I ended up wiring it differently. It kind of has a virtual ground by itself, right?

You're right, they need to be referenced to the - side of the filters. Oops. Fixed

Here is 3 hours of work today. Kind of slow? . I also got the Weber order today and the relay boards are big (Initially I thought I had enough room). I am waiting for some parts, so I may be a couple of weeks. This cabinet was orginally for a 17x10x2 chassis. I cut it down, but while doing so I chipped the wood pretty bad. I also think the dimensions look horible. I will have to build a new cabinet this summer, the garage is too cold.

I use the same wiring schem that Bob posted, and it works perfectly!
However, I had to make a small modification. I wired it with no reference to ground (chassis) first, like in the schem, but had to ground it to get rid of noise.
Just a tip if your amp turn out to be noisy when you fire it up the first time
Dogears. The cabinet below is one of my own. Its also for a 17x10x2 cabinet so my new ODS will not fit. I am going to build a non-HRM verson into that cabinet. Later though. Also I am going to look for your tweaks when I get this up and running. I like your tone and playing. I mostly work on ear training to try to get that melodic thing you have going while improvising.

I'm not sure why you got noise with that schem on the relays. I found that I got hum when it WAS grounded, you're getting hum when it's NOT grounded. Funny.
I'm almost done. I ordered some 10mm trim pots last week and they should be here shortly along with some misc. parts I needed. I have one problem though . I did not know I needed the 7805 5v regulator for my relay supply and I did not order it. Does anyone know of a distributor who ships for cheap for little orders like this. I have sapped my funds and cannot order another $40 dollar order to make shipping worth it. I also have called around and no stores around here (Spokane, WA) stock the part. What do you think?
