On the amp I worked on the bolts holding the tank were rusted and I didn't want to take the chance to break anything so I didn't mess with it.
But it's an odd setup.
That square bar looking thing is the tank.
It hangs from a couple spring steel type leafs I guess to isolate it better.
Not sure what kind of sensors it uses on the spring.
For me it wasn't very useful but then again, I don't play surf.

This was my Amp back in '65 when I played farfisa through it. Later got a fender bassman, so danelectro didn't get much use.
I have been restoring what seems to be a great sounding little amp, apart from the the tremolo which had not been working. I started with replacing the faulty 12ax7 and then on to the coupling caps and drifted and broken resistors related to the tremolo circuit. The tremolo now works except for a tick sound that occurs at every pulse of the tremolo, I think this is a parasitic oscillation and I may have to redress the signal wire going to the 2 control pots which are not shielded. If there is any body with experience on resolving this sort of problem, I will eternally be great full.
I have a Philips 957C -Moody BR17- Goldentone 1750 - and 3 Phillips EL36 Modified cinema amps and a AWA PA1001 amp and lastly CBS Arbiter L120 with support photos.
Just got my dads old Dan DM25. Gave her a good cleaning. Replaced the cord with 3 prong and ended not using the ground switch and death cap. Checked the caps and all looked good. Power tubes fired up ok, but probably need replacing due to age. She sounds real good but the tremelo is almost non-existant. Reverb is great. You think the caps on the preamp side giving me the problem on the tremelo? I hate not getting it totally restored.
Change the filters with new, replace (don't bother testing) any of the audio caps (usually Astrons) with new, especially the tremolo oscillator caps. Of-course try the tremolo tube.
