reverb tank
I have an accutronics reverb tank from an amp that had an op amp driven reverb circuit. There is no number on it but just a pattend number. Can this tank handle voltage and impedance of a tube driven circuit?

Re: reverb tank
First thing you can do is to look for the schematic of the "donor" amp, then you can investigate about Tank data

Hi Gary,
You have to measure DC resistance of input and output, after that you can find exact data(impedance) for your tank at accutronics web site.Handling high voltages isn't problem, tank is isolated from the rest of the high voltage circuit by transformer or capacitor.Input impedance will determine what type of circuit you should use, transformer or capacitor driven reverb.Cheers

Re: reverb tank
OK this sounds funny, but its nothing close to a spec on Accutronics site:
output 212 ohms
input 25ohms

Heres my #s on the tank:
On the end: 23572-0
top:
ACUTRONICS
CARY,IL
PAT 2,982,819
3,106,610
output 212 ohms
input 25ohms

Re: reverb tank
Was just browsing through the application pages on their site and found by the coil bobbin colors that my input impedance is 150-190ohms and output is 2250-2575 ohms
It should be a type 9 or 4 since it has 6 springs

Re: reverb tank
I'm pretty sure the type 4 only has 4 springs, and the type 9 has 6 springs. Both type 4 and type 9 are about 16.75 inches long.
Shorter (about 9 inches) with 6 springs would be a type 8
