This is truly inspired. I didn't know..I guess I'm only 21 years behind the times.

I started listening to Robben when he was with Tom Scott and the LA Express, maybe 1977? Welcome to the party.

Not really. Robben's latest solo CD is "Truth" IMO, one of his best. His new band Renegade Creation is hot and he tours most of the time.

Many feel his stuff with the Blueline is his best work but overall, I'd say he's in the prime of his career.

He doesn't miss does he?!! Phrasing with he is dancing around, improvising within patterns, and singing really well. Old news around here I guess...

He's also one of the people you meet and in 10 seconds think "He's a really nice guy"

I watched a you tube clinic of his when you guys were educating me on dumbles the first time round, very humble bloke.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Roland is in there somewhere, he sure has some amps set up!. I had a couple of mid 80's Cubes (still got one) and they can really get some decent tone. heavy as hell, though.

Always been a fan of the Jazz based riff, it leaves me remembering the phrase and just has that intelligent edge to it.

thats a great way of putting it, he builds it, changes tones, builds again... yeah definately more than the usual 'put the head down and noodle for 16 bars'!!!

Great little amps for warming up or small gigs.

In 2009, after the Nashville Amp Show, I had the priveledge of sitting next to Vince Gill, and seeing Robben Ford play. Vince summed it up..."he's the man". No doubt!

Hey, Vince Gill is no slouch.

Never being much of a Country Western fan, I was very pleasently surprised when I saw Vince on the first Crossroads concert.

Man, the guy can play! Chicken pickin' and flat pickin' as good as anybody I've heard.
Now if I see his name on the television I always tune in.

I like Vince Gill alot also! Great player.

My favorite Robben Ford playing is when he was with Jimmy Witherspoon and playing a Super 400 guitar. I think it's an incredibly smooth soulful tone.
