final schematics?

Post by HiGain »

OK... I t hink I have these right. If there are no further suggests, I'll post in the files section. But, please point out any corrections.

Thanks,
Jake

[EDIT] I re-updated the schematics with the changes. How do they look now?

Any information on exact power amp voltages would be appreciated.

I use paint to draw my own schematics. I'll upload my template later.

Thanks.

I'll look them over later. Thx for doing this.

What did you use to draw them?

Jake, great job!

Just a couple of things on the HRM one. After the .0022 is a 100k and not 150k ever. Also, nix the treble bleed after OD2. GRid on OD2 should be 150k to 180k depending on brightness taste. Some had 150k there.

I'd make the clean bright cap optional......

I like a 120pf bright cap instead of the way too bright 270pf ;)

I'd show 2X100uf caps in series for a 50 watter too.

Jake - Great Job on these - Is the 100K on the non-HRM pre out jack there for a reason?

Very good Higain. If you are posting a revision, could you include the values of the voltages out of the power supply as well? it's nice to have a reference.
Thanks

I updated the files. Please let me know if you guys think they are done. Any info on power amp voltages would be a big help.

Thanks, Jake

Which is brighter? I'm having some dullness on my 3 channel that I need to conquer. I have 180K in there now.

I have an on-off-on switch on my 15 watter, 47pF off and 120pF. Really works out nice, especally since the treble control is a bit subtle on this Hybrid amp.

The 150k should be brighter than the 180k but probably not by much. I doubt that this is the main source of dullness.

these look very nice, and thanks for doing them.

I was wondering if there is a consensus regarding first power supply caps. Is It 220mf for 100W, 100mf for 50W?
Should I not use 220 for 50W? I do want it clean and don't mind a little "stiffness".

I use two 220uF in series, each paralleled with a 220k resistor, for a total capacitance of 110uF on both the Concert and Bassman (6L6 pair) and the Guyatone (6L6 quartet). Only the Deluxe Reverb II has a little less (80uF) but that is due to the multisection cap. Otherwise I would have used the same setup as for the other amps.

For those who asked. This is the schematic template I use to draw schematics in paint.

Last Siren Call...

Please advise as to any changes necessary....

Remaining questions:

1. Power amp voltages
2. bleeder Rs across the main filter caps.... 220k or 270K?
3. Specific transformers?
4. Global Neg feedback loop?

Any other observations.

Thanks,
Jake

supernoobquestion...

In HRM schem I see 11 pots ? Are one of the tone sections trimmers

cheers,

What you have is certainly correct for 100w. When I recently changed to the "50W values" in my 2 output tube amp, I thought I liked it better, not sure why though. myTwoCents

Yes, the second one is a circuit board inside with 3 trimmers, 3 caps and the 33k resistor.
