How to had a ligth indicator to a Mtchless Hot Tube Pedal.

Post by p.coutin »

Is there a way to install a ligth indicator on the overderive channel ? I used very little overdrive, and sometime on stage I am not shure on what channel I am...
Thank You

Salut Patrick. If I understand correctly, you want an indicator light to turn on when the distortion setting is selected by the foot switch. You could use an LED, powered from the filament supply, and wired so that the LED circuit is completed when the distortion setting is selected.

The LED circuit would be a 1N4007 diode, the LED, a current-limiting resistor, and a switch (part of the foot switch), all in series. If the present foot switch is a DPDT, you will probably need to replace it with a 3PDT as found on most pedals and use the third pole to complete the LED circuit.

Is this a DIY or an original? Do you have a schematic of the pedal?

As Martin stated, you would need to change the switch to a 3pdt in order for the LED to be added.
