EF86 Amp with Dumble Overdrive Circuit?

It's absolutely possible. Just drive the 2-stage OD section with the EF86 preamp. You will have to use an OD input trimmer or control to pad the signal enough, but it should work fine.

What type of trimmer would you suggest?

The EF86 tube (EF806, actually) that I'm using has a MU of around 5000... Is that a problem that can be tamed with the aforementioned trimmer?
